Our Yoga Makers
Ruby Morris: Co-founder of Make Yoga Lisboa, Yoga Teacher.
Ruby decided to start providing corporate yoga classes after observing how stressed, stiff and tired friends and students would be after working long hours in largely sedentary positions in offices and on computers. With Zoe Taylor, co-founder and owner of Ministry of Yoga, she decided to set up Make Yoga Lisboa to help combat the common ailments of city work.
Excited to teach amongst the expanding, dynamic corporate scene in Lisbon, she is confident she can offer classes where anyone, no matter their circumstances, can unwind, feel comfortable and start, or develop, their practice.
Ruby is a 250 hour qualified yoga teacher, having completed teacher trainings in India and the United Kingdom. She has been living and working in Lisbon for 8 years and has been with The Ministry of Yoga studio for over a year. She considers her yoga practice and teaching to be a humble process of continued learning and education and intends to study again in Goa, India in 2019.
Zoe Taylor: Co-founder of Make Yoga Lisboa, Owner Ministry of Yoga, Yoga Teacher
In 2010 whilst living in Melbourne Australia, Zoe discovered the multitude of benefits yoga can bring to a modern day working life. Working 50hr weeks in Banking and Finance (from Retail Outlets, Call Centres and Corporate Office), studying an MBA part-time and balancing a healthy physical and social life was difficult, let alone time to relax and de-stress the mind.
Zoe started practicing yoga twice a week and found that it made a huge difference to her life. Digestion of food improved, sleep quality improved, increased energy to be with family and friends and an overall shift to a positive mood. Soon she was giving up Friday night knockoffs to participate in a yoga class instead (a different way to unwind from the week).
Once accredited to teach yoga in 2013, she immediately began teaching corporate yoga classes in a large Australian bank, sharing the practices that had helped her during stressful times in her life. For the last 5 years Zoe has continued to study Yoga and Mindfulness in Australia, Asia and Europe completing numerous courses amounting to over 550hrs of Training and 2000+ hrs of teaching. Zoe moved to Lisbon, Portugal in 2015 with a career change to full time Yoga Teaching where she continues to hold the same passion to bring yoga to those who need to find balance in life.
